2021 Odyssey Resumed – Day 5 – Hilgard Junction, Oregon to Vicento, Oregon

Large creek. The locals call it the Columbia
Interesting slumpy-looking feature within the Columbia Gorge.
The numerous dams along the Columbia power the northwest’s server farms.
A Stonehenge reproduction along the Washington side of the river was built to honor locals killed during World War One.
Look closely and you’ll see that all of the other tourists look just like Dyan.
Vineyards on the Washington side.
If it’s a rock, it’s basalt. Basalt, basalt, and more basalt.
Basalt.
Bridges, dams, railroads on both sides of the river. Lots of commerce but no barges because of dams.
Dyan at our campsite.
Burl rustlers have been active in the state park.
