January 29th, 2015 – Panamint Valley

Somebody didn’t get the memo about cheap oil …

Set the controls for the center of the sun. Control panel on old generator.

What be this? Old equipment from nearby talc mines in the Darwin Mountains.

A tool that I don’t own.

Free spirits (like Charlie Manson).

Tram cart from mine above Ballarat.

The entire town of Trona looks like this – hundreds of quasi-abandoned.

I was shocked to recognize my temporary home from about 34 years ago in beautiful Baker, California. Although it’s abandoned, the Royal Hawaiian has held up better than I have.

The Hotel Hawaiian photograph is very surreal. How often do they pick up the mail? Maybe never.
